Photographing newborns is a little bit selfish of me. I get to hold brand new babies who have that irresistible newborn smell and the squishy newborn lips. I get to hear their adorable sleepy sounds, and talk to their parents who are exhausted and overwhelmed, but completely absorbed in their new little one. It's no secret I love babies. I had four of them, and I love being reminded of how little they once were. So, actually it's more of a service to me for them to let me photograph their babies.
Here are a few of the newborns I photographed in the last few months. I love the simple details, the organic way they move their tiny bodies, and their little spirits emerging into the world.
